In August 2022, total equities turnover value on the GPW Main Market was PLN 19.5 billion, representing a 6.7% increase year on year, while Electronic Order Book turnover value increased by 9.4% year on year to PLN 19.4 billion. Average daily Electronic Order Book equities turnover value stood at PLN 880.3 million, a 9.4% increase year on year. On the last trading day of August 2022, the WIG index closed at 50,174.09 points, representing a 29.3% decrease year on year.
Total August 2022 NewConnect equities turnover value decreased by 33.0% year on year to PLN 196.2 million, while Electronic Order Book equities turnover decreased by 32.5% year on year and stood at PLN 195.3 million.
Total August 2022 derivatives turnover volume was 1,057,700 contracts, representing an 88.0% increase year on year. Index futures turnover volume increased by 173.3% year on year to 730,500 contracts. Single-stock futures turnover volume increased by 0.7% year on year to 119,600 contracts. Currency futures turnover volume increased by 15.4% year on year to 182,400 contracts.
In August 2022, structured products turnover value increased by 9.0% year on year to PLN 228.6 million. ETF turnover value increased by 123.0% year on year to PLN 81.4 million.
At the end of August 2022, Catalyst listed non-Treasury bond value was PLN 95.2 billion, compared to PLN 101.2 billion at the end of August 2021. In August 2022, turnover value of non-Treasury bonds on Catalyst’s Electronic Order Book increased by 235.7% year on year to PLN 570.6 million.
In August 2022, total TBSP bond turnover value was PLN 13.5 billion, compared to PLN 50.1 billion in August 2021, representing a 73.0% decrease year on year.
Total August 2022 electricity turnover volume was 11.7 TWh, representing a 22.9% decrease year on year, where spot transaction turnover volume decreased by 17.4% year on year to 2.5 TWh and forward transaction turnover volume decreased by 24.3% year on year to 9.2 TWh.
Total August 2022 natural gas turnover volume was 7.8 TWh, representing a 65.0% decrease year on year, where spot transaction turnover volume decreased by 36.6% year on year to 0.8 TWh and forward transaction turnover volume decreased by 66.6% year on year to 7.0 TWh.
Turnover volume of August 2022 spot transactions in property rights to certificates of origin, excluding rights to certificates of energy efficiency (“white certificates”), [2] was 2.0 TWh, representing a 63.1% increase year on year.

August 2022 turnover volume in Guarantees of Origin of electricity generated from renewable energy sources increased by 39.4% year on year to 2.1 TWh.
At the end of August 2022, the market capitalisation of 374 domestic companies listed on the Main Market was PLN 507.8 billion (EUR 107.4 billion), while the total market capitalisation of 419 domestic and foreign companies listed on the Main Market was PLN 1,015.9 billion (EUR 214.9 billion).
