SIX Swiss Exchange: Trading Key Figures July 2022

In July 2022, trading turnover on SIX Swiss Exchange reached CHF 77.2 billion, 21.0% less than in the previous month, while the number of transactions decreased by 16.2% to a total of 4,124,210. The SMI® rose by 3.8% and reached 11,145.9 points at the end of the month.

During the first seven months of the year 2022, trading turnover on SIX Swiss Exchange reached a total of CHF 783.0 billion, exactly the same amount as in the corresponding period in 2021, while the number of transactions increased by 0.8% to a total of 38,528,834.

The highest turnover on a single trading day was recorded on 29 July, which saw securities worth a total volume of CHF 5.1 billion changing hands. The highest number of trades was recorded on 6 July, with 225,821.

The stock that generated the highest turnover during the reporting month was NESTLE N with CHF 6.8 billion; NOVARTIS N was the most traded stock with 225,307 transactions.

In July, products with crypto currencies as underlyings reached a trading turnover of CHF 100.9 million. In total, 186 products were traded and 8,286 transactions concluded. The highest turnover was recorded by AETH, an ETP on Ethereum, with CHF 14.8 million; the most transactions were recorded also by AETH, with 1,560 trades.
